I’m Hosting and Will Be Performing in the “Ambient Synth Drones & Drinks Concert & Meetup” on Jan 21st, 2024 in Boulder

Happy New Year!

I’ve already got my first event on the books for 2024.

On Sunday January 21st from 5-7 PM MST at the Junkyard Social Club in Boulder, I’m hosting my 141st FREE event with the Rocky Mountain Synthesizer Meet. The event is called Ambient Synth Drones & Drinks Concert & Meetup and Registration is now open.

For those that haven’t been following along, I’m the founder of both the Rocky Mountain Synthesizer Meet (now in its 11th year) and the Synth Patrol which produces improvisational electronic music concerts with rotating squads of players. Performances are based on a growing repertoire of creative missions with immersive sound, lighting and visuals elements.

More details below…

Ambient Synth Drones & Drinks Concert & Meetup

The event will feature a live improvised ambient drone concert and artist talkback by the Synth Patrol: Drone Ensemble wrapped in a synth meetup where you can mingle with fellow synth enthusiasts and enjoy beverages and small-bites from the full-service Junkyard Social Club Cafe and Bar.

For this performance, each member of the ensemble will play one note only, one at a time, to create a collective emergent ambient synth drone soundscape filled with continuous notes, tone clusters, movement, and dynamics.

This immersive popup experience will be live mixed through a four speaker system with a sub and feature supporting ambient lighting effects.

The performance will be followed by a brief Q & A.

This event is FREE, open to the public.

Please Register Now so we can get a headcount.

Agenda

  • 5:00-5:30 Welcome, announcements, get food and drink, mingling
  • 5:30-6:30 Ambient Drone Concert with the Synth Patrol: Drone Collective
