Thunderbirds Are Go!

I just discovered first season of the remake of the 1960's Thunderbirds Thunderbirds Are Go – is available for free to Amazon Prime members. There are 26 episodes in season 1 and look like at least two more seasons are in the work. I know this is a little off topic but I know many synth geeks also are way into science fiction so I wanted to make sure you knew about it.

Thunderbirds Are Go is a New ZealandBritish science-fiction television program produced by ITV Studios and Pukeko Pictures. It is a remake of the 1960s television series Thunderbirdscreated by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson[1] and is made using with a combination of scale model miniature effects and CGI created by Weta Workshop. In comparison to the 1960s series, the remake features updated character, vehicle and set designs while retaining many features from the original series…The music for the show was given a modern flair, but keeping the very memorable feel of Composer Barry Gray's original score.

I was a huge fan of these Gerry Anderson shows so the minute I heard about this I hopped on Amazon and watched the first episode. As with the original, it's a kids show for sure – but I think there is a lot to like if you were a fan of the old show. I appreciated that they stayed fairly true to characters and ship designs and such.

It's a big budget affair really – and – from what I've seen so far I think they made some good choices freshening the show up a bit. The combination of models with CGI gives the show a unique look and interesting look. FAB.

The voice acting was always strong in Gerry Anderson shows and this is still true in the new show. I was surprised and happy to find out that Rosamund Pike was the voice of Lady Penelope.
