#MusicMonday: New Ultravox Album “Brilliant” Featuring 80s Lineup

I can clearly remember the first time I heard an Ultravox song. Back in the early 80's I was watching a cable show called “Radiovision” produced by a local radio station KILO (awesome call sign right?) in Colorado Springs. They were playing videos by bands like the Pretenders when all of the sudden the song “The Thin Wall” came on. I loved the song and the video and I was hooked and Ultravox became an influence.

Through the power of the interwebs, you can watch this very video right now :^)

Fast forward to 2012 and on May 28th Ultravox released their first new album since 1994 featuring the 80s lineup of Midge Ure, Billy Currie, Chris Cross and Warren Cann.

If you’re a fan, I think you’ll enjoy this release as the style an instrumentation of the songs are classic Ultravox with the band being at the top of their game.

The album is available on iTunes, Amazon… checkout Ultravox’s official store site for links. They are touring Europe in the fall and you can see their schedule here. I’m really hoping they add a US tour leg as I’ve never had the chance to see them live.
