I was working on a new track and fired up Sonic Charge Micro Tonic 3 today and much to my surprise – easter eggs replaced the drum pad buttons - no really!
By the way this is simply an awesome virtual drum machine!!!

Virtual drum machine is a good way to go for anyone who is looking for a low cost way to produce broadcast quality beats right away. And really this one is good for producing any style of music that has a repetitive beat.

Zac,
One of the simplist software drum machines I know of is http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/idrum/.
However, with just a little extra time Microtonic would take you much further.

What would you say is the most user-friendly drum machine for the technologically disinclined guitarist?
