Big news—I got a Tonverk! Yay!
I initially held back to see where Elektron would take the new platform. When they added the Grainer engine, my interest grew.
After getting hands-on time with a Tonverk at a Buchla and Friends event in Los Angeles and talking with Chris ON-PREM, Eric SURC0, and Mathew EZBOT, I gained a much better understanding of the machine’s capabilities. When I got back, I ordered one right away.
As an Octatrack user since 2013 😲 (Octatrack category), I took to the Tonverk right away.
Also, Tonverk’s compact form factor and dual USB-C ports (one for power) make it Goldilocks machine for me for studio, travel, and gigs. The included charger has a thumb screw to secure the connection reducing tension on the port and preventing accidental power loss.
The Hunt for a Power Bank
I had a battery I’d been using to power my Octatrack, but it’s older and requires a wall charger to recharge. So I hunted for a power bank that could run the Tonverk, recharge via USB-C, and stay relatively compact.
I found a helpful thread on Elektronauts https://www.elektronauts.com/t/compatible-power-banks-for-tv/238560/4 which got me started on charger requirements. Someone in the thread mentioned an INIU power bank, which I’d never heard of.
INIU (P63) 100W Power Bank, Mini Size 25000mAh

After a bit of research, I found an even smaller INIU than the one mentioned in the post above.
- 25,000mAh Capacity
- Revolutionary 30% Smaller Size
- 100W Fast Charge
- Charge 3 Devices at Once
- 3-Year Warranty
- Wide Compatibility: USB-C or USB-A compatible devices (Including phones, laptops, tablets, etc)
- Weight (g): 0.86 lbs (~392.3g)
- Dimensions: 4.3 x 2.7 x 1.4 in
- Capacity: 25,000mAh
- In the Box: P63-E1 Power Bank1, 0.3m/1ft USB-C to USB-C cable1, user manual*1
Hands-On Testing
I’m not an affiliate and have no commercial relationship with INIU. I purchased this battery with my own money to test it. I got it on Amazon for $66 US, though you can also find it through various other retailers and directly from INIU’s website.
Size
I took some photos to show you the size of the power bank.

Tonverk Power Draw Test – Only Used 10% of Battery in 1 Hour

I fired up the Tonverk with the power bank, hit play on a factory preset, and let it run. An hour later, I came back and found that the INIU P63 only used 10% of the battery! Your mileage may vary, and I didn’t let it run for all 10 hours till it died, but there seems to be more than enough battery here to run the Tonverk and more power-hungry devices.
Display
The display is super basic only showing power level, but it’s good enough. There are other more expensive devices on the market. I did not test them but I see from their product listings they display more info, like time left before the battery runs out.
Test to Recharge INIU P63
I used an Anker Prime Charger 100W (which I also recommend for travel and music gear) to recharge the P63 through the same port. It took just over an hour to fully recharge the power bank.
INIU P63 is Now My Go-To Mobile Power Bank
This power bank can be used to power other musical devices. You’ll need a Birdcord or Ripcord if your device doesn’t have USB-C.
This is also plenty of power to recharge cameras, mobile phones, and even a laptop, so I’ll definitely be taking this with me when I travel.

More on Tonverk to Come
In closing, I’ll also mention that I think before owning a Tonverk, I didn’t really understand who it was for and how it fit into the lineup. I totally get it now and hope to share some insights about this in the future, so make sure you subscribe for future posts on Tonverk and other news and articles.
