Mark Mosher | Synthesist | Boulder, CO
I’m a Boulder-based synthesist, composer, and multimedia artist creating cinematic, sci-fi-inspired electronic music, from driving techno beats and glitch elements to ambient soundscapes.
Head Full of Zombies Era
In the 90 and early 2000’s, I spent 13 years playing 100s of shows keyboardist and vocalist with alt-rock cover band Head Full of Zombies. We ended up developing a huge fan following often pulling in 500+ people a night.

Custom Composer / Theatrical Sound Designer Era
I also served as lead sound designer for UCCS Theatreworks for one season and worked as a composer creating original music for commercials and film, including “Flight,” featured in the special features for One Six Right. Even though I don’t normally compose in the style of music, this song is the most heard song I’ve ever written and has hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube.
Solo Career Current Era
In 2010, I relocated to Boulder and launched my solo electronic music career, focusing on performing with expressive controllers such as Percussa Audio Cubes gestural controllers, instruments with visual feedback, and drum pads. I also began my multimedia journey with Resolume.
Performance credits include Denver’s Buell Theater balcony series, Georgia Tech’s Guthman Music Competition, Knobcon, University of Denver, UCCS, University of Colorado, Electro-Music festivals (NY, Asheville, Indianapolis), Art Institute of Sunnyvale, and Pacific Northwest Synthfest.

Ableton Live Virtuosity
Along the way, I became an Ableton Live expert developing deep proficiency over a decade of use, spanning composition, sound design, performance, and workflow optimization. I specialize in advanced techniques including complex MIDI routing, audio effects chains, and Push integration.
Sound Design & Consulting
My expertise has been recognized by Ableton Berlin, who contracted me as a freelance sound designer to create presets for their core library instruments including Drift, Wavetable, and Sampler. I’ve also consulted for Ableton, Keyboard Magazine, and Recording Magazine on user workflows and creative applications. I’ve also done factory presets for Rob Papen’s Blade.
Installations
In addition to performing I did installations with Percussa Audio Cube Gestural controllers (and sometimes Resolume) for The Bob Moog Foundation, the Denver Central Library, and STEM schools in Denver.
Multimedia Concert Experiences
Since 2012, I’ve integrated live interactive visuals using Resolume. My most ambitious project, Beautiful Tomorrows: Temporal Odyssey™, debuted at Lafayette Electronic Arts Festival (LEAF) in 2025, combining narrative storytelling with cinematic techno and real-time responsive visuals.
Ensembles
I performed and perform with several ensembles:
- Carbon Dioxide Ensemble with Victoria and Thomas Lundy,
- A.I. Winter with Michael O’Bannon
- Machine Ghosts with Langdon Crawford and Michael O’Bannon
- Mosher Deanne with the late Dino J.A. Deane
