Mission 02: Record Store Takeover

Overview

On Saturday December 21st from 1-3pm we orchestrated a takeover of Little Horse Vintage, Books, Vinyl in Louisville, CO.

On this mission, the Synth Patrol squad were meetup members The Aefonic (aka Brian Horsfield), Cold Future (aka Victor John), monoscene (aka Christoph Scholtes) and Newecho (aka me). We live sampled random needle drops on random or shopper-selected vinyl to improvise a live soundscape. I accompanied all this with psychedelic visuals.

Here is a walk through video of the venue I sent out as a teaser.

Here is a video ad I created illustrating some psychedelic visuals.

Post-Show Update:

Event was fantastic. Thanks to all who came out. Below are some videos from the event.

First up a 1 minute clip from my favorite part of the show. We were live sampling random Iron Maiden samples from vinyl. Brian started this off with a cool muted musical bed and the others join in. I love the look on Christoph and Victor‘s faces as the piece emerges. I was focusing on improvising visuals at this point. There is such a pure joy in improvisation when movements come together like this.

Here is a 6m30s of GoPro highlights from the 2 hour performance.
