Founder: Rocky Mountain Synthesizer Meetup

The Rocky Mountain Synthesizer Meetup which I founded in 2012 is the home of 790+ Denver & Boulder Front Range synth geeks.

It’s a community where synth enthusiasts of all levels meet to share their passion for synths, network, get inspired, get hands-on with gear, share info about projects, find collaborators.

It was winner of Best Music Meetup ( in 2017 by Westword Magazine.

Each meetup typically features a presentation selected from a broad variety of topics ranging from reviews of new synths, overviews of synth technology, how-to lectures on synthesis and performance technique, and fun community events like Synth Petting Zoos, and Modular Synth Lightning Patch Walk-throughs. This is followed by socializing and often a performance by a meetup member.

790+ Members All Along the Front Range

The meetup, which started as the “Boulder Synthesizer Meetup”,  has grown to over 759+ members all across the front-range. This necessitated a name change and we are now the Rocky Mountain Synthesizer Meetup ( Typical attendance is usually between 35-60+ people depending on the time of year, weather, and the theme. We’ve had some massive events as well. For example, Ableton chose our meetup as the launch-point in Denver for Live 9.5 and Push 2. We had over 110 people in attendance for that event.

Our members come from diverse backgrounds and interests and include synthesists, musicians (pro & hobbyists), educators, industry folks, producers, performers, engineers…

Focus is Social and Networking

The meetup is a social gathering that allows enthusiasts in the Denver/Boulder area to share their passion for synths, network, learn, get hands on time with gear, tell people about projects and find collaborators. It is not an educational event – although most leave with some nuggets, inspiration, and contacts that will help them create more and better art.

Group Reviews

Very positive experience, very interesting mix of people, I try to go as often as my location and schedule allows.

Great vibe and you can meet a lot of awesome musicians and creative people here. Seems like there’s something for everybody here. Check it out!

I really like this group and what it represents for supporting the artist community. I’m looking forward to meeting more of you at the next event.
